CENTRAL MUSIC INSTITUTE
CENTRAL MUSIC INSTITUTE
Central Music Institute (CMI) is a nine-day summer music camp that provides high-quality musical training, spiritual growth, and ensemble experience for young musicians through focused brass, percussion, and vocal instruction.
CMI is the most advanced of The Salvation Army Central Territory’s summer music camps. It allows students (minimum age 13) to apply what they have learned from regional camps and conservatories. It is held at The Salvation Army’s Wonderland Camp and Conference Center (9241 Camp Lake Rd, Salem Lakes, WI 53168) at the end of summer of each year.
This camp is designed to enhance students’ musical abilities and help them discover ways to use their talents to further the Kingdom of God. CMI offers the opportunity to have fun, fellowship, grow and learn in an exciting Christian environment.

CMI 2026: August 1-9
We’re looking forward to another incredible CMI filled with music, laughter, and meaningful spiritual growth.
Students will enjoy a thrilling day at Six Flags Great America, one of our favorite traditions of the week.
Come dressed to impress and celebrate in style at the CMI Gala, an evening of fellowship and recognition as we honor the accomplishments and hard work of our students.
One of the highlights of the week is Soloist Night, where selected students will have the opportunity to perform for the entire camp. Come prepared to audition and share your gifts.
Our special guests this year include Jonathan Evans and Heather Osmond, and we are excited to welcome Clark Beckham as our featured Guest Performing Artist. His concert will be on August 3rd, and he will also be giving a workshop on August 4th. We look forward to the inspiration and excellence all of our guests will bring to the CMI experience.
