- Participants must choose either TYB or TYC for this retreat weekend to maximize their time within the limited rehearsal schedule
ABOUT TYB
Welcome to the Territorial Youth Band, a vibrant musical ministry of The Salvation Army USA Central Territory that brings together young musicians for worship, discipleship, and musical excellence through two distinctive brass bands. Through retreat weekends, rehearsals, and ministry opportunities, participants grow both musically and spiritually while forming lasting friendships and serving communities across the territory.

Triumph Brass:
- For qualified instrumentalists 13-25 years of age (must be 13 by March 27, 2026).
- Membership is contingent on:
- Ongoing discipleship to Jesus Christ.
- Being a regular attender of a corps, with a commitment to regularly participate in corps programming.
- Faithful participation in corresponding corps music sections where available.
- All audition materials must be received by January 30, 2026 (for new members only).
- Anyone not in Wonderland or Citadel Bands or a previous member of Triumph Brass is required to submit an audition and may be admitted based on musical ability and availability in Triumph Brass.
- All Triumph Brass members must attend the following weekends:
- March 27-29, 2026 – Camp Mihaska 1466 State Route North, Bourbon, MO 65441
Celebration Brass:
- For qualified instrumentalists 13-25 years of age (must be 13 by March 27, 2026).
- Membership is contingent on:
- Ongoing discipleship to Jesus Christ.
- Being a regular attender of a corps, with a commitment to regularly participate in corps programming.
- Faithful participation in corresponding corps music sections where available.

- Anyone not in Tabernacle or Temple Bands or a previous member of Celebration Brass is required to submit an audition and may be admitted based on musical ability and availability in Celebration Brass.
- All Celebration Brass members must attend the following weekends:

Territorial Youth Band Application Procedure:
- Applicants who have not participated in TYB previously are required to submit an audition video with their online application.
- Applicants who participated in Celebration Brass previously have the option of auditioning up for placement into Triumph Brass.
- Applicants will submit a video audition to the Territorial Music and Creative Arts Ministries Department to USCMusic@usc.salvationarmy.org (via emailed link to private YouTube/Vimeo or mp4 video file).

- Roster will be announced by February 13, 2026
Brass Auditions: All auditions should be submitted as a video recording after completing your application (see above). Be sure to begin your recording by stating your name and where you are from. Please play through the attached audition materials in one take, beginning from excerpt number on and continuing as far as you can without stopping the video.
Percussion Auditions: All auditions should be submitted as a video recording after completing your application (see above). Be sure to begin your recording by stating your name and where you are from. All percussionists must submit an audition on both snare drum AND mallets. Each submission should be in one take; however, you may submit a separate video for the snare excerpts (1-4) and the mallets (5-6). For snare drum, you will start at the beginning and play as far as you can without stopping the video. For mallets you will do the same by playing through from the beginning to as far as you can go.
